O-rings
We hold a comprehensive range of standard O-ring moulds to BS1806, BS4518, AS568 and ISO3601. For non-standard O-ring seals we can produce bespoke tooling very quickly (92% of O-ring tools are produced same day) providing cost effective solutions and a responsive service.
Elastomer O-rings
PPE manufactures and supplies fully moulded and CNC machined elastomer O-rings from 1.5mm (0.06") to 2.5 metres (8ft) outer diameter and 0.8mm (0.03") to 12mm (0.47") cross section.
All of the rubber O-rings we manufacture are available in both small quantities and large volumes.
Standard and non-standard O-ring sizes
We hold a comprehensive range of standard O-ring moulds to BS1806, BS4518, AS568 and ISO3601.
For non-standard O-ring seals we can produce bespoke tooling very quickly (92% of O-ring tools are produced same day) providing cost effective solutions and a responsive service.
High performance materials
With an unrivalled range of elastomer materials available, PPE has an elastomer for every application, with performance characteristics that meet high temperature, high pressure and aggressive chemical applications.
For O-rings used in food, dairy and pharmaceutical applications PPE offers a variety of elastomer material grades compliant with many international requirements such as FDA, USP Class VI, WRAS, KTW and 3-A in addition to metal detectable O-rings, all of which are free from Animal Derived Ingredients.
Pre-formed 'shaped' rubber O-rings
are used to assist assembly and prevent unnecessary stresses being placed upon the seals. Such rubber O-rings are often used for rectangular path door seals or to navigate around pipe-work. By removing permanent stresses from the O-ring, PPE pre-formed O-rings can extend the life of the part in your application.
Jointed rubber O-rings
- PPE offers the largest fully moulded, formed elastomer O-rings manufactured on a single tool, in one pressing operation. However, for O-rings larger than 2.5m (8ft) in diameter, lengths of cord can be joined to produce O-rings of limitless size.
Materials
Perlast Perfluoroelastomers
Perfluoroelastomer (FFKM) is the most chemically resistant elastomer available and is effectively a rubber form of PTFE. Perlast® perfluoroelastomer grades provide other properties which prove most valuable in critical sealing applications where purity, high temperatures and retention of sealing force are paramount.
The Perlast® range of perfluoroelastomer materials are at the leading edge of polymer technology. They have been developed to offer superior sealing solutions with enhanced performance and improved functionality, which is proven in the field. We offer a wider range of seals in Perlast®, including O-rings, sanitary gaskets and spring seals.
Features of Perlast® FFKM seals include:
-
High temperature stability up to 327°C (620°F)
-
Almost universal chemical resistance
-
Outstanding mechanical properties
-
High purity materials for reduced process contamination for semiconductor applications
-
FDA, USP Class VI and 3A 18-03 compliance for food and pharmaceutical applications
-
Rapid Gas Decompression (RDG) resistant materials for high pressure environments for oil and gas applications
For sealing applications that require all of the above features and benefits with the addition of exceptional low temperature capability consider Perlast® ICE perfluoroelastomers.
Kimura
A unique range of fully organic elastomers ideally suited to thermal, dynamic and specific plasma processes where radical concentrations are generally lower or where inorganic filler systems are undesirable.
The Kimura® range of high performance elastomer materials utilize a controlled molecular architecture which provides a unique self-reinforcing polymer structure, providing improved chemical resistance without the use of inorganic fillers of any kind. This high purity material breaks new ground in elastomer technology, developed specifically for aggressive chlorine and CxFy based semiconductor applications.
Kimura® elastomers span the range of fluoro and perfluoro (FKM and FFKM) materials and includes unique hybrid elastomers, specifically developed by PPE, for the semiconductor industry, to offer a step-change in sealing performance, surpassing what has previously been achievable for fully organic materials.
The high purity of the polymer combined with the absence of inorganic fillers makes Kimura® materials suitable for processes involving lower feature sizes.
